Acronics FTP
Acronics provides FTP access to our customers for a secure and efficient way to trasnfer files. There are two FTP services Acronics provides, one being standard FTP protocol, and the other being FTPS protocol.

How can I get Acronics FTP access?
Once you set up an account with Acronics, we will provide you a username and password.

What is the difference between FTP and FTPS?
Both of these are similar in that they both are efficient methods in transfering files, but FTPS having an added layer of security. FTPS requires the customer to use special software with SSL/TLS enabled.

Which is easier to use?
From our customer feedback, FTP is the easiest method to use because of the ease of set up.

 

There are two methods to transfer files with FTP.

1. Using Windows Explorer
2. Using a FTP Client

1. Windows Explorer:

Step 1: Open up My Computer

Step 2: ftp://username:password@ftp.AcronicsFTPlocation.com/ <--this is just an example
We will send you the following information:

Username
Password
The Acronics FTP location

Step 3: Paste this link into the address bar and press Enter

Step 4: FR_ACRONICS are files from Acronics going to you, TO_ACRONICS are files you are sending to acronics

Step 5: Drag and drop the files into the corresponding folder, or copy and paste

2. FTP Client

FTP Clients vary from software to software, these steps are general instructions that should apply to most FTP Client programs. If you do not have a FTP program, we recommend using Filezilla, which is a free, secure, and fast FTP Client.

Step 1: Open up your FTP client and click Add New Site

Step 2: Name the site Acronics

Step 3: Under Host, enter in the ftp address (we will email you this, an example: ftp.AcronicsFTPlocation.com)

Step 4: Enter your user name and password

Step 5: Enter in port 21

Step 6: Click connect

Step 7: You will see two folders under "Remote site:" FR_ACRONICS are files from Acronics going to you, TO_ACRONICS are files you are sending to acronics

Step 8: To connect again the future, click on the arrow next to the Site Manager and click Acronics

Our FTPS server uses the latest in SSL/TLS technology. You must have a Client that supports FTPS transfer over SSL/TLS. We recommend using Filezilla, which is a free, secure, and fast FTP Client.

Step 1: Open up your Filezilla and click Add New Site

Step 2: Name the site Acronics

Step 3: Under Host, enter in the ftp address (we will email you this, an example: ftps.AcronicsFTPlocation.com)

Step 4: We will email you the port number to use

Step 5: "Servertype:" select "FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL"

Step 6: Enter in your user name and password

Step 7: Click Connect

Step 8: A popup will show "Unkown Certificate." Place a checkmark next to "Always Trust Certificate in future sessions." Click OK.

Step 9: You will see two folders under "Remote site:" FR_ACRONICS are files from Acronics going to you, TO_ACRONICS are files you are sending to acronics

Step 10: To connect again in the future, click on the arrow next to the Site Manager and click Acronics
